This coffee brews as described and is a nice, complex combination of fruit and earthiness. The earthiness gives it a richness compared to Ethiopians with a more clean cup profile and tea-like mouthfeel. A lighter roast part way through first crack brought out the origin flavors best while taking it through first crack emphasizes sweetness and chocolates. I may try to mix the two for a nice melange.

This is one of our favorite coffees! At a dark roast this has a beautiful chocolate finish that is absolutely delicious! Roasted at a lighter roast the fruitiness comes through with a mild bitterness. Our favorite roast is definitely darker roast with these beans.

Just roasted the entire half pound bag through first crack. It is absolutely heavenly. Not as over-the-top fruity as the Yirgaffe, but complex, smooth, and full bodied. I will buy a much bigger bag of this next time.

Having tried lots of other coffees, I've settled on Harari. For a year or more, I haven't bought anything else. I haven't liked other coffees
nearly as well, so I've decided in my old age to stick with Harari coffee as long as it is available. Life is simpler that way (and also very good).
CBC's service is excellent.
An Uber drive from Ethiopia was surprised when I told him that Harari coffee is available in the U.S., and wanted to contact Coffee Bean Corral as soon as I told him about it. I hope he and other Ethiopians in the U.S. don't stampede and buy up all the Harari coffee at CBC (hence my remark above "as long as it is available.")
I prefer a dark roast with this coffee. Rich and chocolaty.

Oh how I long for the blueberry bombs of the past Harar Horse varietal. Was hoping with this issue but alas, it's just a very good Ethiopian. Granted coffee is an agricultural crop that varies often from year to year, so I will re-order this in the future, but it is only in my top ten picks. Make sure to let rest after roasting. Much needed improvement after three days.

Great roast from one of my favorite regions. I've been looking for good harrar for years and this fits the bill.

This was my first puchase of Harrar beans. I had read that you can occassionally get a "blueberry bomb". Well, my first few cups have all been blueberry. I roasted them on a cast iron skillet on my gas stove. I made the cups of coffee with a V60. This beans are just awesome.

Great coffee; I like it a lot. The flavor and aroma of this coffee is complex and unique. Tasted good even hot or cold.

Years ago when I was working in Saudi Arabia, this was a favored bean of the locals. Saw the listing on Coffee Bean Corral and purchased 5 lbs. I roast it to full city and mix it with Sumatra Mandheling decaf also at full city
(the Ethiopian bean takes more heat) for a half caf brew . I use an espresso grind and run it threw my Bambino doing three pulls on a puck. It gets rave reviews!

It’s good, interesting notes like tea, but creamy and dried fruits, some honey and brown sugar, caramel and nothing of blueberry probably I’ll order more

Absolutely wonderful coffee when you get the roast dialed in. That is easier said than done if using a air roaster. The 1st batch is spread in the driveway because my go to program for Africans was WAY to hot and long. As said above, slowly go past 1st crack and stop around a 60 on the color track for perfection. Extremely smooth, sweet molasses with lots of fruity notes. Definitely on of my favorites now.

My favorite coffee by far, too bad I bought 60 # of other coffees before I found Queen City Harrar.

I was pan roasting this and while it was good, it wasn't THAT good. I built a drum roaster and my first success was with the Queen City Harrar. NOW I get it! I drank some fifteen minutes ago, and the "finish" still hasn't finished! Lovely dark chocolaty aftertaste that faded into cinnamon just lingers and lingers.
If you nail the sweet spot with this, it is incredible. I turned off the burner two minutes into 1C and let it coast through the end of the crack, then quickly cooled it down. Ran a small shot through the Aeropress right away and was blown away.

The coffee beans were perfect and they roasted nicely, and evenly. It's no joke that there is a slight blueberry taste on the backend. Very very delicious. I plan to make another purchase very soon of this coffee as it has become my favorite. Not too strong, and definitely not weak. It is just right when roasted between City+ and Full City....but definitely not into the 2nd crack.
Anyway. I loved the coffee and it will become my staple coffee to serve when I have guests over.

This mixed approximately 50/50 with Java is awesome!!! (As long as I do my part and don't ruin the roast (that has happened but I can ruin any type of origin as well as another). This is as good or better than any of the best Yemens I have mixed with Java. City plus on both beans.

Love this coffee, I roasted it to just short of the end of first crack, about ten seconds after first crack and to a few seconds befor second crack. The blueberry knocks your socks off with the lightest roast.
My daughter told me if she had not picked up these beans from the OK Corral herself, and watched me roast them she would swear this coffee has been flavored.
I am completely satisfied with the product and service. I will be buying more.

One of my Ethiopian friends buys me green beans from the Ethiopian grocery store but I got a gift certificate from here for a retirement gift so decided to try it. I roasted it about 12 seconds into second crack before cooling and it was delicious. Oily by the end of the pound, just a little oil the first couple days after roasting, very rich and deep flavor...one of favorites.
