I bought this on sale--first 3 lbs and then 25 lbs. It would be a bargain at its regular price, but at the sale price? Couldn't pass it up.
I'm using a Behmor drum roaster. I preheat it to 275-300 and then roast 12 oz on manual (P4). (Although the Behmor claims a capacity of 16 oz, I find that the beans roast unevenly; 12 works better for me.)
I like dark roasts, so I take it into second crack before I start the cool cycle--about 18 or 19 minutes for these beans.
I like to let the beans rest for at least 2 days. Three days is even better.
I blend it with African or Indonesian beans and some Robusta for espresso. I like to roast each type of bean separately and then blend the roasted beans.

First I roasted it to medium, but the flavor just didn't grab me. It tasted more baked than roasted. When my roast misses the mark, I assume that the fault lies with the roaster (me).
So my second batch I pre-heated by little desktop roasted and roasted 6 oz at 225 Celsius for 18 minutes, yielding a dark roast. I brewed it in my Bialetti and added Half n Half. The result was a rich, smooth, low-acidity, chocolaty brew. With rising coffee prices, I especially liked paying $4.77/lb on a 25-lb shipment. I'm tempted to give it five stars since it is truly delicious, but I'm saving the five-star rating for coffee that provides a truly outstanding WOW experience.
The truth is that if you've been buying and roasting coffee for any length of time, it has undoubtedly affected your palette. By the time you're reading and writing reviews online, and watching coffee videos by James Hoffman on Youtube, you've become a full-blown coffee snob, and can longer even drink that awful commercial-grade coffee in 99% of restaurants anymore. I didn't realize it until I got into roasting three years ago, but most of what's served out there is dreadful. By contrast just about everything I've ordered from CBC has been quite good.
I highly recommend Fazenda da Lagoa.

There was a great variation of size, shape, and color (more than I had seen before) but they first roast came out well. I used a longer roast, raising the temp slower and the beans balanced. Removed just before, or at the second crack. Would buy again.

Great coffee. Good light roast. A bit too acidic this morning, but still a great coffee! Might even like it more at medium. Highly recommended. Great in espresso or pour over.

For me this is what coffee is supposed to taste like. I roast it just past first crack. Low acid. The green beans are clean with very few rejects.

I have tried other Brazilian beans from other suppliers but keep coming back to this one as my stand alone, go to bean. In roasting with a Behmor it does great. More smoke and chaff in the roasting process than other beans, but the finished product is always good. Smooth, low acidity and makes a great, consistent cup of coffee. I roast it to a city + - full city. Price is always right and my friends and family always ask for this roast!

Mystified by the 5* reviews on this one. Inconsistent size. Inconsistent roasting. Unremarkable results. Over the last 16 years I have purchased quite a few different coffees from the Corral. This is the first time I have ever been dissapointed to level where I wrote a poor review. Not happy or satisfied with this purchase.

Roasted 1/2lb on Behmor2000AB.
Manual on P5, Fast Drum Speed, Cool once first crack got rolling.
Full mouthfeel, front notes of hazelnut chocolate, super tangy on the back (almost hay-like).
I love the Ethiopian naturals, and this is really not anything like them but so good and a nice break as I continue chasing the blueberry.

Five stars for this one! I roast it to a lighter side of medium. I then dial it in to make a smooth and sweet Americano with an excellent long finish. Easy to roast. Using my Behmor on P5 and normal drum speed, I drop it at 1:40 past 1C. I have found roasting 200g at a time in the Behmor gives the best results.

This is one of my new favorites. Smooth and reliably tasty at a light to medium roast.

I roasted these pretty dark, well into the second crack, using a drum based outdoor converted grille type roaster. I use for a single origin espresso and my wife uses for drip. It works well for both. The espresso is very smooth with a nice medium body and some sweetish, cinnamon nut flavors. It’s what I expect from a good Fazenda. Recommended!

I don't excel at cupping notes, but I do know what I enjoy and this bean roasted to full city is tasty. My first reaction was I tasted chocolate, low acidity with no after taste. I've only roasted 30 or 40 small roasts in my short time as I try to find my "gotta have bean" this one makes the list of buy more. As of this date every state except Florida and both Carolinas have snow on the ground, CBC was hit hard with ice and cold. I placed an order just as the ice was hitting them, UPS and all other shippers pulled their vehicles from the road, CBC's customer service has been amazing, you guys ROCK!

This coffee is wonderful for the price. Never purchased a coffee I didn’t like from CBC. I always buy on sale and this one was excellent. Delicious cup!

One of my go to coffees. First crack roast produces a very well balanced medium body coffee with good depth, low acidity an no lingering after tasted. This is the bean I put down for weekend guests.

I bought Fazenda da Lagoa Natural because it was on sale, with the intention of taking it along on a camping trip. I like fresh roasted coffee in the morning when out of doors. Coffee just doesn't get any better.
Generally speaking, I prefer my coffees roasted a little on the darker side, what I believe is called Full City Roast. Anyway, I roasted up a little on my stovetop at home using a cast iron skillet. The roast was pretty even, and the flavor and aroma were excellent. I'm looking forward to trying some different roasts with this bean.

As a newer roaster I was a little nervous to spend too much on beans. Since these were on sale at the time I figured it wouldn’t hurt as bad if I messed them up. I must say I’m very impressed with the quality and taste of this bean. I’ve done both medium and dark roasts, at different temps. My wife is the queen of coffee and has fallen in love with the truly fresh coffee taste and texture. We have a Breville Espresso machine and the beans do really well in it. I will order these again for sure!

Bought this on sale in December on a whim and I wish I would have bought more. I really love this one med-light roasted with its light nutty flavor and the price even when not on sale makes it a 5 star bean. I'm new to roasting and this bean seemed to roast well and was very even.

This has been my go to for flavored coffees for customers. It’s sweet and nutty profile supports many flavors and is great without flavoring. This is a forgiving bean, perfect for beginners, that produces a good cup across the entire roasting spectrum. There is a large amount of chaff produced during roasting, just a fair warning.

This coffee is a consistently good cup of coffee. I ordered this coffee in response to a request for low acidity coffee. I started at the source and based cost this coffee based on CBC and its cowboy community, as well as my own roasting research, roasting began.
Customer was happy and I was happy duplicating the roast with a spare 1 lbs. It's smooth and light but has a nice medium- full body that doesn't take away from coffee for the sake of coffee mentality. Great for a morning brew through a drip or an aeropress.

This coffee was off the charts. I did it at a medium roast, I play with different roasts and the best to me was right at second crack. This coffee was bright and really filled the cup even for a dark roast guy. I’ll definitely be back!

First time roaster. Started with this because of the price. Even with my rookie status, this made some good coffee! I'll definitely purchase this again. I'll likely upgrade quality of beans as I improve as a roaster.
Probably my only suggestion would be a shipping adjustment, if possible. It kinda stinks to have great price on beans but have to pay more for the shipping than what the beans cost.

Great coffee. I have the hardest time timing the cut off after / during second crack. In my experience, there is a very fine line between french roast and french roast plus / charcoal. But...with this bea, we actually dont mind the extra dark roast.

This is November 2018. I was in Brazil in October and was only able to purchase one bag of beans (already roasted) at the airport. But, the coffee I tasted while in Brazil was decent every day, every place. Okay, once, it seemed they were a little off their game, but most days it was good coffee.
Now, to this bean. I never tried it before, but now I have, as a medium roast, and found it to be a flavorful cup of coffee. I'd order it again, but not yet, because I've got a lot of coffee to roast before I need more. I would advise anyone reading this not to buy it, then there will be an overstock of it, they will put it on sale, and I'll get it at a reduced price.

Very happy with this as a S.O. espresso. I've purchased it twice and will be back for more while the supply lasts. I had gone deep into creating pre-roast blends but this is a nice relief in taste, prep., and roast. It's also gotten me back into post blending.
