The Burundi Butera is from the Kayanza Province and Kabarore commune (1,700 masl) in northern Burundi. It is processed at the Butera washing station using stream water and dry processed at the Sivca dry mill. This microlot was sourced from JNP Coffee, which supports the education of farmers on optimal planting times, the careful harvesting of cherries and on special sorting before wet mill processing, during and post drying under shade and/or on raised African beds, and again before packing. Many of the coffees from JNP Coffee have won the Cup of Excellence in recent years. Pleasant, sweet Grapefruit, hibiscus, chocolate, black tea; bright acidity, delicate body. Flavors: lemon, cherry, orange, candied apple, caramel.
