This coffee comes from the Kayanza Commune in the Kayanza Province of Burundi. It is produced by the Twaranyuzwe Coop- a group formed in 2013 by 343 small farmers that have operated and maintained their own washing station since 2015. Founded in 2010, InerCafé Burundi oversees Burundi’s coffee sector. They’re tasked with farm-to-market traceability, quality control, international partnering, and more to ensure the best quality coffee is produced. This lot is 100% Red Bourbon that is fully washed, sun dried on raised beds, and dry milled in the nearby province of Ngozi.

Cupping Notes: Aromas of tobacco and honey dew melon that carry over into the cup with citrus notes of grapefruit, sharp lemon, apple, and vanilla.

I roasted 1/2 pound of these beans when it was quite cool outside, resulting in a relatively slow cook; it took 16-1/2 minutes to achieve a C+ roast level. After a couple days rest, I was pleased with the balance and intensity of the flavor. I brew with an aeropress and drink this coffee with a bit of stevia powder and sometimes cinnamon. A little sweetener helps bring out the fruity flavors IMO.

I'm new to roasting I have a little Korean hand roaster . I really love this coffee it roasted to a nice light medium wonderful flavor. I timed it and did three different roast. I like my coffee rather light so all we're on the light side but the flavor developed with all three roast. I really enjoy roasting my coffee I don't have to worry about trying a roast that was commercially done which I probably won't like always too dark for me. Now I can choose my beans and roast them the way I like and this one was really good
