Colombia Washed Geisha is a special batch developed from the El Vergel Estate in Tolima. They developed a washed profile by separating the Gesha variety by genetic branches in the picking for the green-tip Gesha trees which have developed an outstanding profile. It was processed by Semi-Washed Anaerobic Fermentation, followed by a slow drying mechanical process combined with a special stall program at different moisture levels to develop more complex flavors and a new pre-stabilization process which helps promote more floral and delicate flavors. This produces a flavor with more tart fruit, floral notes and delicate flavors.

Cupping Notes: Red fruits, juicy body, mild acidity.

Roasted to just past first crack. Three days after roasting it was good but lots of brightness. After 5 days it mellowed out and became an outstanding roast. I highly recommend if you can afford it.

Loved this coffee. Roasted to just before second crack seemed to be the sweet spot for my taste.

I was very underwhelmed by this bean. It produced a nice cup of coffee but nothing that makes it memorable. If I wanted a “nice” cup of coffee I could do that with any number of beans that cost 1/3 of the price. Still, unless you try it, you will never now what your missing out on….or not.
