I got subtle Tomato-like sweetness out of this. Is that weird? I don't know how else to explain it. Really smooth, robust acidity. It's really bright but not tart. Very interesting. Roasted this just into 2nd crack and probably would not roast it lighter. I like it.

I got this bean in my African sampler pack, and it quickly became one of my favorites. I love its heavy body with the subtle fruitiness; it’s like a dreamy Ethiopian. I’m glad to see it back on the shelves.

Just wonderful coffee. Buying more. Like the idea of helping Congo business women too.

I bought 2 sample packs, and of all the bags I've roasted, this one is my favorite so far. I roasted 30 seconds past first crack, for those curious. The acidity is very nice and fruity—lots of berry flavor. The body was incredible, very smooth with lots of that coffee texture. It finished with a nice and somewhat light chocolate flavor. It's a very complex cup, and I am far from a tasting expert, so I won't try and name all the notes. I will probably purchase a 3-5lb bag in the future.

This was a new offering that I tried. Personally, 1/2 pound samples are worthless to me. My minimum is 1 lb. This was roasted to medium roast. There was quite a lot of chaff (coffee skins), to discard after roasting that to me was more to be expected from natural process than its stated, washed process. This is just an observation based on other varieties I roast. I allowed it to rest at least 24-48. hours after roasting before grinding and brewing. This coffee is more acidic than others I roast/grind/brew. I know this because, often milk or cream will curdle or separate when coffee is too acidic, sometimes if the water is too hot or both. This occurred with DR Congo Umoja Washed. Perhaps you only drink coffee black as we all should, but just in case you use cow water😂 in any form or just to test the acid of coffee, you can try a sample or cupping with moo juice. 😂 I brewed a different variety and the same cream, same water temp. did not curdle or separate. What does this mean? Nothing really, other than it is more acidic than other varieties. The 'Coffee Bean Matrix Attributes' are, exactly as provided by Coffee Bean Corral. However, neither my wife nor I liked or like DR Congo Umoja Washed. And what does this mean? Nothing other than people like or do not like what they like or don't. If you find this review helpful, good. But you need to try this for yourself. You just might love it?

Roasted with a Gene Cafe to City Plus. The floral aroma hits my nose when I raise the cup. It has a sweet fruity and floral flavor that leaves me wishing it had a bit more. All in all, a good coffee.

Roasted just past the second crack in a Behmor roaster and these beans turned out wonderful. Nice cinnamon, caramel, and oak flavors. Reminds me of a subtle bourbon barrel stout.

I just roasted it to medium roast . A very balanced flavor. Full of subtle undertones. I did not let it rest at all and it was great anyway. Wow!!!!!!
