This is exactly what I was hoping for, and I'm honestly surprised it's only 50% Gesha. I roasted it to just into a first crack, which must have progressed fairly quickly because the grind looks more like a city+ than a city roast. The roast time was only 10:30 on a gene cafe (with full preheat), so it doesn't appear to need a ton of time developing. I'm tasting notes mentioned, though less so on the cherry. Sour cherry maybe? I do taste the chocolate and caramel, but it came out very muted. I suspect that if you want more of those tones, just take the roast a little slower during the browning phase than i did. I'm also getting that classic jasmine orange Gesha thing, though it mostly comes off strong in the aroma rather than on the tongue. Even with my quick roast, there's pretty low acid, but a good amount of tangy undertones, which sounds contradictory but is wonderful. The body is smoother than i would have expected, with a refreshing feel going down the throat. Honestly, my only gripe is a lack of information about what goes into this blend. I have no clue what the other 50% is, nor do I even know what country the Gesha is from. I understand if we can't know that info, but it would be great to see the details and be a little more connected to the beans in their specificity.
