Our Nicaragua SHG is a coffee that comes from the Jinotega region which is the largest coffee region in Nicaragua. It was processed at the Diam Mill in Matagalpa and was sourced from buying stations in Matagalpa, Jinotega and Boaco. It is a Strictly High Grown coffee, meaning that the coffee was grown at high altitudes, which allows the bean to develop slower, resulting in a denser high quality bean.
Cupping Notes: Milk chocolate, sweet aroma, citrus tones, well rounded cup.

This bean is very easy to roast with my SR500. Coffee comes out even and smooth. At just past first crack you can really taste the Milk Chocolate. Definitely my go-to for a medium roast coffee and it is hard to beat the price!

Another great one from the Coffee Bean Corral. Roasted just to second crack. Ground it with some cinnamon sticks then brewed. It was nutty and smooth.

Took it to what I call a City+ roast in a SR800 type roaster (stopped about a minute after end of 1st crack, definitely before any second cracking started). Rich, smooth, nutty flavor even just with drip style coffee. Not detecting much fruitiness especially in comparison to some of the Ethiopian beans but another person that tried the roasts said there was a hint of it there. Did try some darker roasts into stages of 2nd crack but City+ was the best for my taste. Bought again and have got the same results in a number of repeat roasts. Almost never do reviews but this bean at this price deserves it.

This is a great product, just a few hours in the oven and its better then any coffee I have ever had before. Always loved coffee but now I wake up excited!

I only took my first roast to first crack. It was very mild. I tried different grind settings to see how it would vary. I enjoyed the coffee, but I like a deeper, robust coffee with more flavor. This is a very nice sipping coffee. I am going to try a longer roast on my second batch to see if I can get more flavor tones out of it. This was a great buy on a bean.

A medium body, sweet coffee with chocolate tones. Roasted to the start of the second crack. Not as vibrant as some other Nicaraguans but very good. Although I did have remove a number of bad beans prior to roasting.
