This naturally dry processed Yemeni coffee comes from Sana'a ("Sanai" meaning "from Sana'a") and is one of the five major growing regions in Yemen. Interestingly, Sana'a is also the historic capital city of the country. With such a deep history of coffee growing, due its unique position as the only country on the Arabian peninsula which can grow coffee, this bean has been described having notes such as graham cracker, teak, cherry vanilla, bittersweet cocoa, and alfalfa.

Cupping Notes: Blueberry, chocolate, strawberry, floral, clean, consistent, balanced, bright lemony sweetness.

Love it. Unusual and rather sublime smell and taste but very recognizable.

Over roasted this one. Still mixed with my second crack Java to make a decent (only because of my inattentive roasting) Moka Java. Sometimes my Behmor doesn’t go into cooling mode when I hit the button and if it’s a light tiny bean like this one it will over roast it. My bad. I’ll be more careful and try again. It wasn’t “bad” but you could taste the over roast.

Absolutely amazing, right up there with Ethiopian coffees. Very smooth and rich!

Very smooth!

Love this coffee! Bolder than most Yemen in a light roast but not bitter and still retaining fruity notes. Get's sweeter as the cup cools. Very unique flavor. Highly Recommended!

Wild and intense and great!

I tried three different roasts: light, medium and dark. Light roast came out almost undrinkable. Dark roast was the best, but nothing to write home about.

It is so nice to find a source of Yemeni given the civil war going on there. Yemenis have such a unique earthy flavor profile that I haven't found a suitable replacement for it during this period of absence. My espresso blend particularly requires it's inclusion. It makes for a fantastic cup on it's own as well. Thank you for sourcing and providing this wonderful set of Yemeni options.

I remember Arabian Mocca Sanani - a Yemeni coffee produced by an USAID program grant and distributed as a dark roast by Starbucks. This is similar when roasted darkly - all the way to 2nd crack. I found that the beans expanded almost 2x when roasting and I have roasted it from fully city to espresso dark; it is the dark roast that I enjoy the most. It also mixes well with Indonesian dark roasts - Sumatra Organic Aceh Ketiara FTO was a good choice, although I roasted the Yemen darker than the Sumatra which retains its chocolaty goodness when kept less dark.

This stuff is very unique and worth trying. It’s complex with earthy and fruity components.

Very unique flavor profile. Great at a city+ roast. I wish I bought a bigger bag.

A bit more expensive, but we’ll worth it.

first time I have tried Yemen coffee and it was great that I could get green beans and roast them to my liking

Good product, good price

Excellent. Though it is more expensive, I'm not sure yet that I like it as well as the Harar Longberry. I agree with other reviewers that it benefits from a lighter roast (or for what counts as a lighter roast for me, anyway). I've had excellent results with a 10 minute City Roast. I don't get much of a first crack, so I don't stop until I'm some way into the second crack.

Great bean, love the subtle flavors when roasted just to the very start of second crack.

I mixed this half and half with some organic Ethiopian Harar, roasted it for 6 minutes 20 seconds just past first crack. It was excellent.
