Papua New Guinea Highlands Plantation A/X

SKU PNGPLANX

Starting at $6.50 / lb

The plantation and wet mill are owned and operated by the Tsekaka clan - 48 shareholders acquired the properties in 1978. The region of Amuliba was originally planted and cultivated by colonialists in the 1950’s but after Papua New Guinea’s Independence in 1975 many plantation titles were transferred to local tribes. A majority of these have collapsed or failed since, and it is a testament to Tsekaka leadership that this plantation continues to function and produce high quality coffees. The Waghi valley is one of the major agricultural centers of Papua New Guinea, with rich soils and a storied heritage of cultivation. The valley is home to the Kuk Swamp, where some of the earliest evidence of the development of agriculture exists.

Notes of caramel, milk chocolate, and hints of lemon - roasted full medium.

Roasted to full medium over open flame and definitely hit the flavor profile. It’s a little earthy, a little chocolatey and even had some hints of butter and nuts. Not exactly my personal favorite but it is a really good, solid cup good for both drip and espresso! I would recommend.
