Very versatile and great tastings, no matter the roast or method. Have been purchasing for a while. Never disappointed.

My wife and I have experimented with a number of regions and blends over the years, and after a lot of experimentation with roast level, brew method, and blending we have settled on Monsooned Malabar as part of our go-to blend. The smooth, full-bodied and deep flavor and mouthfeel is really quite unique and never fails to elicit compliments and questions from guests. We roast this right up to the beginning of second crack, blended with a Sumatra Mutu Batak or Mandheling G1. We have found we prefer this brewed in a French Press, 4 minutes at 205º. Coffee Bean Corral is the place we always find the best prices and the quality is always excellent.

Monsooned Malabar has been my favorite coffee for 2-3 years now. I buy it in 20lbs bags every 6 months or so. I roast it to where the 1st crack quiets down, so on the light side. It is best to let it rest for a few days after roasting. I do espresso with a manual press, and it comes out thick and foamy. Great taste, aftertaste, and smell. I get no acid reflux from it, as I get with other beans. Fast delivery and consistent quality from CBC. Thank you!

I got away from this bean several years ago, using it for pour-over and espresso. Now that my tastes have changed I am coming back to it as a base bean for cold-brew coffee. 6 oz of coffee into a 2 quart mason jar and then almost fill with filtered water. I roast it just into second crack and it delivers a strong backed coffee which stands up to the oat milk and half n half I put in my afternoon cold brew beverage. I also roast this bean for my neighbors who put milk in their coffee in the morning. Coffee Bean Corral is a great company to buy these beans from since they are close and a shipment gets here the next day, if I order in the morning.

I have no expertise in roasting coffee. However I enjoy doing so with my hand held Hive roaster and a small camp stove burner. The monsooned beans have a nice yellow tone in the bag before roasting. I roast them just slightly into second crack in very small batches. The flavor is a very interesting cup of coffee that I would encourage any coffee drinker to try. It is smooth and delightful. My family likes it and I will buy and enjoy more in the future. Coffee Bean Coral service and shipping is always spot on!

I had really high hopes for this one. I tried it with 4 different roast profiles from light to med/light to the point of getting oil out of it and I've tried to blend them and over and over I get the same thing, WOOD. The initial tongue hit is a good coffee flavor but the aftertaste is 110% like sucking on a coffee soaked tooth pick. Just a flat out wood flavor. I got the 1/2lb sampler so it won't hurt so much when I throw it away. Sorry guys, this is a miss for me.

I feel like this is one of those love it or hate it coffees. I absolutely love it in an espresso blend! Not so much as a single origin though… a bit too earthy for me, but definitely worth a try! Something about it adds just the right touch to an espresso. Maybe a bit of a sweetness or a fullness that just makes espresso “pop”. About 30% Malabar, 60% Brazil, 10% or less of robusta. And Bingo!

I wrote a review in March 2022 about this being my (and my family's) favorite coffee. I just received another 50 lbs. that I ordered from Coffee Bean Corral. Their packaging, shipping times, shipping costs, and responsiveness are all top-rate. Definitely have become my go-to place for green coffee beans.

This is a very smooth coffee. It's a flowery smooth flavor and lacks bitterness. I call this my afternoon coffee. For morning coffee I want a deep rich bitter coffee to wake me up. This is a milder coffee flavor, sweet and soft on the pallet.

Don't tell the world, CBC Monsooned Malabar is the sweetness coffee on the planet when roasted right!

For being a coffee with a non western taste, I really like this one. Some might not like it as a single origin, but would be great in a blend or espresso as it is special, but not super funky like a Vietnamese coffee (would not recommend that one.) Good one for something different, but not too different.

My favorite coffee for blends. Add 20% (roasted about 20-30 seconds into 2nd crack) to any blend and you get an earthy, sweet bass note. BEAUTIFUL. I never drink as a SO. Parliament said we gotta have that funk, but maybe not all at once!

Roasted it to a nice middle City+, making sure to keep the temperature nice and low for the browning phase. The result is an earthy experience that feels wholly separate from something like a Sumatran. The best I can describe it is "petrichor". This coffee tastes like rain on stone smells. Interestingly, it got a little sweeter after sitting for a week, and gained the subtle undertone of burnt Carmel. I don't think it would necessarily be a flavor everyone would appreciate, but I absolutely love it.

Very smooth with a sweetness

This is a very unique tasting coffee that has a different taste than any other coffee I have roasted. Others have noted that there is almost a spicy hint and I would also agree. The beans seem to take longer to roast but there is something unique about the monsoon rains washing them. If you want a different tasting coffee, this is worth trying. I find it makes a great addition to my coffee portfolio of favorites to keep.

Bold flavored coffee with a very mild hint of spice. I blend a Ethiopian pea berry with this to tone it down and the combination is really tasty.

I just love these monsoon processed beans. At first I wasn't sure but the more I drank them the more I liked the taste. I like them so much. Ow I buy 5 lbs at a time!

I do love this one. Not for a daily drink, but for an afternoon pick me up or to share with friends looking for an unusual cup.

Surprise to see that this bean has large bean size and roast up quite evenly. I roast it in a sift over gas stove to barely finished first crack. Rested the bean for the few days before drinking. Rich and strong body with earthly mouthfeel. Very unique bean and great to have a chance to try it out!
