FedEx, UPS and USPS pick up our packages at 3:30 pm Monday through Friday, so orders placed by 8:00am CST will (almost always) ship the same day. Orders received over the weekend will ship on Monday.
During the holiday season, please expect a 2–3-day delay on packages being shipped. We are working as quickly as we can to get your orders shipped to you.
Our shipping charges are the charges supplied to us by FedEx (Federal Express), UPS(United Parcel Service) and the USPS (United States Postal Service), which are added to your order in the shopping cart. We do add an additional 50 cent handling charge to US Postal Service packages only, and we do have to include packaging weight for each item. During the checkout process we give you a list of shipping options with the shipping charges for each method, specifically for your order; (the handling charge for Postal Service is already included in the rate). You decide if you want to spend more to get it there faster, knowing exactly how much it will cost.
WE CURRENTLY OFFER THE FOLLOWING SHIPPING CHOICES
UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE (USPS)
USPS PRIORITY MAIL is the most common choice for domestic orders with “gross weight” of two pounds or less (1 1/2 lbs of coffee, some parts, etc.). USPS PRIORITY MAIL is also the most common choice for larger orders (2+ lbs) to Alaska, Hawaii & US possessions, like Puerto Rico. U S PARCEL POST was the shipping method of choice for INTERNATIONAL ORDERS. Now, Air Parcel Post is a much better value, and Global Priority Mail has become the option of choice for smaller orders.
See the International Orders page for some examples.
ALL International shipments by any method, are coming under increased scrutiny/inspection. Delays of two to four weeks are not uncommon for Parcel Post, so please be patient. Your shipping confirmation will tell you the day your order shipped; unfortunately, beyond that we have absolutely no control over when your order arrives. We are sorry and feel as helpless as you do, but there is nothing we can do except file a claim, but no sooner than 30 days AFTER it is due.
Surface Mail takes 6 to 12 weeks to most of the world and may be the least costly for International orders. Air Mail takes about 2 to 4 weeks to most of the world and now costs about the same as surface rate.
GLOBAL PRIORITY MAIL takes 3 to 5 days to most of the world and in many cases costs less than surface or Air Parcel Post, but is limited to orders weighing less than FOUR POUNDS total shipping weight. Please Note: Global Priority Mail Flat Rate LARGE Envelope is only 8 1/2 x 11 inches in size and WILL HOLD ONLY 1 TO 1.5 POUNDS OF COFFEE - if we sold steel or cement we could probably get four pounds of it in the envelope, but not coffee beans. GPM orders for more than 1.5 lbs of coffee or most other items will not fit. It is the best value for small shipments (not more than 1 1/2 lbs of coffee, but anything else will have to go in a larger box, and that gets pretty pricey; however, if you select Global Priority Mail and are unsure as to the size you need, check the unlimited size: if we are able to fit it safely in a Flat Rate Envelope, we will, and adjust your shipping charge down to accommodate it.
UNITED PARCEL SERVICE (UPS)
UPS UPS does not pick up or deliver on weekends.
UPS GROUND is the least expensive and takes from two to four working days to any destination in the continental United States.
UPS 3 DAY SELECT costs a little more than ground and guarantees delivery within three working days.
UPS SECOND DAY AIR is roughly three times the cost of Ground and takes, you guessed it, two days to anywhere in the United States. You have to add an extra day for orders to Alaska and Hawaii.
UPS NEXT DAY AIR SAVER costs a little less than Next Day Air, and still gets it there the next day, but by 5:00pm guaranteed.
UPS NEXT DAY AIR is roughly two times the cost of Second Day Air or six times the cost of Ground service; delivery guaranteed by noon (early afternoon to some East Coast locations).
If you must spend that money, buy more coffee instead and allow time for a slower shipment. Everybody but UPS will be happier!
