Coffee Bean Packaging

At Coffee Bean Corral It Matters How Your Coffee is Shipped

Green coffee bags and coffee packaging in general has come a long way. Back in the day, people shipped coffee in burlap bags (though these are still charming) or in low-quality plastic. Now, the coffee industry has learned better. Modern plastic bags protect green coffee beans from the elements, rough shipments, and your own procrastination.

Shipping green coffee requires two steps of packaging: what kind of coffee bags should the beans go in, and what should those bags be shipped in? At Coffee Bean Corral, we're always working to improve how we get your coffee to you.

Bags

Individual varieties from 1/2 lb samples up to 5 lbs are packaged in sealed bags, made from tough plastic that can stand up to heavy shifts in weight as well as humidity, water, dirt, etc. For example, if you order 5 lb of one variety and 5 lb of another variety, your shipment will have two separate ziplock bags of green coffee beans.

If you order 10 lbs of a green bean variety, it will ship in classic burlap, with all its texture and tradition.

Orders of 25 lbs+ have an option: burlap or GrainPro. We recommend GrainPro unless you really want the souvenir. GrainPro is a commercial agricultural product designed to protect grains and produce from the elements, insects, and abuse. The great thing about GrainPro bags is that there's no upcharge for choosing it - you can get the added protection for no added cost.

All this being said, if you go to your local coffee shop or at the supermarket, usually you will receive a side gusseted bag or a "stand up pouch" for your coffee.

In Shipment

Orders from 1/2 lb to 5 lbs are mailed in padded envelopes that add a resilient extra layer of protection for your unroasted coffee beans. Tough yet easy-to-open, these padded envelopes are a mainstay for a reason.

Orders with 5 lbs to 10 lbs of coffee are shipped in boxes. If you choose UPS during checkout, you'll even get Coffee Bean Corral's logo so you'll know exactly what's on your doorstep.

If you order 11 lbs to 20 lbs of coffee get our logo boxes every time.

Orders 25 lbs+ also get Coffee Bean Corral's eye catchingrugged boxes. Keep in mind that unless you order a lot of varieties of specialty coffees in smaller units, these will be filled with green coffee beans in GrainPro or burlap, ready to roast. Or store. That's up to you.
