Description

raw green bean Green coffee is raw Roast prior to consumption

18 Rabbit––part of Honduras’ Cup of Excellence––is a collection of farms owned by Señora Flhor, her mother, and eleven members of their family. As pioneers of organic and biodynamic coffee-farming techniques, the soil they use is always naturally regenerated. 18 Rabbit Washed coffees are grown in the Marcala region and wash-processed, which gives the roast a sweet flavor.

Cupping Notes: Chocolate and caramel aromas with chocolate flavors and a mild green apple-like acidity with a heavy body and very sweet.

This coffee is wonderful. It is sweet and oh so flavorful. Roasted it to 2nd crack and it is great. I would highly recommend it to anyone to enjoys a mellow but flavorful cup of coffee.

I posted a review on the ‘Natural Process’ of this coffee ☕️ June 17, 2019. Today, I would like to compare this washed process with the natural process. Both were ordered and roasted yesterday. Personally, I usually wait 24 hrs. After roasting before grinding and brewing, but honestly, I love ❤️ coffee ☕️ and waived my 24 hour rule. I roasted about 11 pm last night and ground and brewed (2) 4 cup pots about 10 am this morning to try and compare each. First off, the washed process had virtually no chaff where the natural process did. It was dark and starting with the washed process, it was roasted into the second crack and was a darker roast than I usually do (my preferred is a medium roast, a bit into second crack). But to be consistent, I noted the temp., roast time and end color and replicated this for the natural process. As to comparing these two processes of this Honduran coffee ☕️ note the difference in pricing. The natural process cost more, but in my opinion, it is warranted! I stand by my original review of 6/17/19 and it remains the most unique coffee ☕️ I have ever tried!! It is a fantastic change-up or in the mood coffee ☕️, but not something I would drink, week in and week out. Now, having said that, if only my likes were forced to just drink one single origin day in and day out, i would have no problem whatsoever, drinking Honduran 18 Rabbit 🐇 washed process! I am glad I do not have to choose and I’m glad that both of these are available!!! Thank you CBC!!!

It is indeed chocolaty...Roasted it a bit past 2nd crack and can't get over how chocolaty and sweet it is. Only 4 stars because, as a result, it is not as complex but the description in the header and the comments are accurate. If you like dark chocolate, you have to try it. I mixed it with other more fruity beans and it overpowered them...Will probably always keep some around to mix with other beans.

18 Rabbit is wonderful, roasted one minute into the second crack. Lots of Dark chocolate and Caramel flavors. Very sweet and smooth as advertised. Will definitely buy again.

ROAST REVIEW 10/05/2023 Open campfire of maple hardwood in northern Vermont using antique wire mesh popcorn popper. Roasted 1 pound in increments of about 1/3 cup per time. Grey-green bean turns green at first, and then slowly browns to first crack. Small beans uniformly roast with very little chaff. Was easy to roast to 1st crack then the beans quiet down slowly darken and then enter 2nd crack phase. Beans will continue roasting to dark and cover themselves with a shiny gloss of oil. Not overly oily and these beans are EASY to roast. A beginner can roast these over an open campfire. Made a light roast, a dark roast, a med-dark roast, espresso, and a lot of medium roast. As it was easy to roast, the freshly Roasted beans also had a very pleasant coffee smell. (Not all beans do that during roasting - some have to cool down first.) Recommended for campfire roasting due to ease.

I almost don't want to post a positive review in fear others will buy this out. Literally the best coffee I have roasted so far. This stuff is amazing. I thought I only liked natural coffee until I drank this.

Not my first order of this one. Will be ordering again. I found that I like to take it just a bit past second crack (like a medium dark). I enjoy the chocolatey taste and aroma.

Roasted up to 2nd crack. Sweet and chocolatey. Did a half and half mix with Bolivia Apolo washed. The combo gave it a subtlety that was delightful. Will surely order more of both.
