This is our household standard and we love it! I take it about 10-15 seconds into second crack.
We send family and friends 8 oz roasted bags all the time and they are hooked too.
You just can gone wrong with the balance of flavor.

Big black is my go-to bean. Perfection! It’s the only bean I can drink black.

This is a solid coffee bean. I roast it medium to dark, no oil. It’s strong but not bitter. It will be a go to. I’m roasting it for an upcoming river trip and know that my first cup being the first up will be sublime.

Still my favorite...usually buy in 10 lb increments. An organic coffee with the MokaJava taste...what is not to like if roasted dark!! Smooth and silky... my biggest issue will be finding a complementary organic blend to roast. Usually roast well into second crack on Behmor P5 manual on high drum speed,

Had been using Indonesian beans and african beans to mix my own moka java mix until I got 10 pounds of Big Black.... roast it to a french roast in a Behmor roaster and have found it to be my favorite "go-to" coffee.. complex and earthy... I love the quick shipping... just a great coffee

This is a rich full- flavored cup of coffee. Good body and smooth with a bold after taste. It is organic which is a plus. Old school good. Medium + or medium dark is great.

This is our all time favorite coffee. We roast it dark, into second crack and full Coast on the Gene Cafe Roaster. I’m not one to define flavors in detail, but we get a nice smooth flavor with some chocolate notes. We use it either coarse grind for pour overs and it makes great shots for a latte.

Dear BBOrganic I love/hate you. I roast BB just past FC. Drink this just before you anticipate a street brawl. It is a straight up kick in the teeth. Either drink it black, the way it should be done or go home with your tail between your legs ;)
We may be friends again someday. Moka Pot or Pour Over.

Got this one as part of the Blends sampler pack and generally prefer a medium roast. I typically brew as espresso and top with an equivalent amount of milk and a bit of sugar. Roasted to the slightly darker side of medium and left to offgas for 24 hours, this is a bold, rich, in your face, wake you up espresso. By day 2 it has mellowed and day 3 is where it seems to find its smoother side while retaining a desirable bold and rich flavor that stands up against milk. Hubby prefers brew or drip and also found this one to be much smoother and more enjoyable 3-4 days after roasting. We'll definitely be purchasing this one again.

This is the best bean to use to make green coffee and roasted coffee beans at a great price. We like our coffee dark and this one works for use. Thanks Jack

All coffee drinkers, especially coffee lovers, have a favorite bean and favorite roast for that bean. My choice is a dark, rich, full-bodied, full-flavored, earthy, non-acid dark roasted coffee - Big Black Organic Blend hits all those requirements with flying colors! I roasted to 431*F for 1 minute. This coffee is magnificent black and extremely delightful in a latte. I have a new favorite to add to my list.

I have been roasting coffee beans for several years, started when the wife and I started getting acid stomachs. So I bought green CBC beans I use a Victoria S.S popcorn popper, I tried the aluminum one didn't think it was healthy. I can roast my beans as dark as we like and get great flavor every time, We have not had any more acid problems. My last purchase was 25 lb of CBC beans last month will hold out for a couple of months. I also boil my beans on the stove in a porcelain pot like cowboy's did. When my wife gets that first sip she says she grew up on coffee like that type. I hope everyone stocks up I did due to the Covid-19. And to keep the coffee Bean corral in business. Right price with great taste. How everybody enjoys and be careful. Jack

No problem roasting. Not a strong "blueberry" taste, but has the body and aroma characteristic of East African coffees. A good compromise blend for people who like moderate fruity notes and a strong earthy body.

Part of the sample pack and I used it to learn more about my Hottop K2+. I liked the sample enough to buy another pound. I experimented at different roast levels and liked it best at City+. We ground the coffee at different settings for a pour over and an Aeropress. Good taste all around. Great body and mild acidity. This blend is now part of our rotation and what I gift to friends. Planning on buying more in the future.
Cheers!

I've home roasted for about two years, now using a second-hand Nesco Professional Home Coffee Roaster. Big Black calls for a 20-25 minute roast, including air fan cooling for the last 5 minutes. I programmed for 24 minutes because I like darker roasts. Even with a medium dark roast, Big Black came out incredibly smooth, almost as if I had added a pat of butter to the coffee. No bitterness at all, even though I sampled a cup less than thirty minutes after the roast.Highly recommended for home roasters of all experience levels.
