This is a review of the Big Black CBC Organic Blend. 1st I am a novice at roasting. I use a 3.5 QT Cast Iron Lodge Fryer. I set it on a cold electric burner and turn the Burner on to 6 (out of 10) and let burner and pan heat for 10 minutes. I roasted 8 oz for 20 minutes (near the end of 2nd Crack (i think))
Nice oily dk roast. I let it rest for 2 days. Made coffee in an aeropress with 48 grams of semi fine grind (Hario Conical Burr Grinder) Added 195 degree water about half way up and stirred for the bloom,,, glad I did cause it bloomed more than I am used to, This ultimately made a mug (16 oz) of coffee....
taste was what i wanted, bitter, earthy w/a hint of sweetness... but so smoooooth, no acidic kick. I wont commit to this as my go to bean....cause there are just so many beans to try,,, I will keep buying from CBC!
