I just got back into roasting my own beans when I purchased a new air roaster for Christmas. Our go to in the past was always La Magnolia and my husband is drinking that. But I needed a good decaf and I was thrilled to see that coffee bean corral has not only a Guatemalan decaf, but an organic one at that!! This was such an exciting find! I was trying to roast it for espresso, so I wanted a little darker than what I usually do, but this variety never really got that dark, and no oils ever emerged. This was after 15 min of roasting in an air roaster. That said, none of that mattered because the result was perfect! It was not burned or overcooked. The flavor is complex, sweet, chocolate and smells very strongly of caramel when brewed! Seriously, sweet, sticky caramel! Made a perfect cappuccino with it and it couldn’t have been better. So, it makes a great espresso with excellent crema and don’t worry if you have to roast it longer than you expect to. This roaster is louder than my old one, so I can’t hear the cracks like before, so I just went by what it looked like. Lastly, they say the caffeine amount can vary in decafs depending on the process and I am very sensitive to caffeine, so I took my pulse before and after drinking a double shot on two different days. Both times my pulse was LOWER after drinking it that before I drank it! A feel so safe now knowing this variety does not cause my heart to race/pulse to go up. Highly recommended! Please never stop carrying this!

This is our new favorite organic decaf. We’d been fans of morning glory decaf for years, but this is even better. In addition to the taste, I like the rich aroma and appearance of the roasted beans

Shhhhhh....don't tell anyone how good these are until my twenty pound reorder is filled. Without a doubt the best decaf I've found. End of first to beginning of second awesome.

I’ve tried many decaf’s and this one is definitely my favorite. I love the complexity and how the notes change as the cup cools down. It’s a perfect blend of round silky chocolate, but still has a bit of fruit and floral notes. Excellent!!

This is a fantastic decaf coffee, ranked 2nd only to the organic decaf Sumatra (also from Coffee Bean Corral). The flavor is rich and smooth and it makes excellent specialty drinks if brewed stronger for lattes, etc.

This is a favorite. I roast it dark and let it rest for 5 days. My wife just drinks decaf and she is impressed. I combine this with Peru: Organic La Florida, Selva Central (making a 2/3 caf mix). I've been using it pour-over, espresso, and Aero press. Not only am I impressed but so are friends.

This is a truly good coffee, and this I say about very few decafs I have had, but the number that I have roasted myself is not a large number. This on I roasted at about 300 for 6 min then sent it to 400 for 5 to 6 min just through 1 crack, full city.

We've tried so many org decafs and this is one of the only 2 that we love. We tried it as the Morning Glory org decaf was out of stock. Roasts beautifully at City Plus and even looks lovely

This is the best decaf I've had yet, and it is not close. Wonderfully rounded, this coffee packs flavor and sophistication like any other great Guatemala out there. My decaf loving customers can't get enough of it.

I bought 10 pounds of the Huehuetenango decaf MWP. I don't know what MWP is. I am familiar with the municipio (pronounced Way Way ten ango) and coffee grown there. I roasted about 1 pound , taking it to City. It is OK. I'll try going darker. If this go well I will come back and boost the score. My roasting may keep these beans from tasting as good as they might.
My first impression of Coffee Bean Corral is very good. They get 5 stars.

This is my go-to decaf... and it's a solid performer. It's easy to roast as the beans take heat well. After roasting pounds of this, I've found that City - / City brings out the best in this. But... there's not a level of roast that this doesn't do well with. I've french roasted it and it still performs. If you haven't tried to roast decaf before, maybe start here or with the Excelso EA process decaf. Either will be great and they are both relatively easy to roast.

This is easily one of the best decafs I’ve ever had. I was surprised at how flavorful it was and how it didn’t taste “like decaf”. Full city roast on my Bullet brought out smooth chocolatey flavors with notes of hazelnuts, brown sugar, and some citrus essences. Definitely will be getting some more.

I probably have tried 30 different kinds of coffee and landed on this one. Very smooth with tons of flavors that are hard to describe! I started doing this (roasting) 3 years ago to find that perfect cup of coffee! This for me is it.

The best decaf I have ever roasted. I had given up on decaf but I'm a fan of Guatemalan beans and thought I'd give it a try. This one can be roasted to city plus and give you most of the character of a caffeinated bean. Reordered five pounds.

I've been looking for a decaf bean I can enjoy at medium to medium-dark roast. At last!!
I struggled finding one that didn't need to be dark just to get that sour-milk taste out (if you know, you know). And now I have a couple of other suggestions I'll try next time thanks to your input.

Only need one word - Amazing! My customers love it. I stop the roast at the first signs of the 2C. Makes a nice rich, smooth and flavorful cup. Can not tell you are drinking a Decaf.

This is so good. Best decaf coffee to me. I tried Bali and I more like this Guatemala. Nice aroma, nice favor. I roasted it to 1C + 3 mins, water loss 10%.

Best decaf coffee I've ever tasted! Taste better than some caffeinated varieties. I Great for pourover and makes a tasty cold brew. I typically roast beans between C+ & FC. These I roast just to the first few seconds of 2C to produce a rich creamy caramel flavor without the roast characteristics that I detest. Please keep this in stock!

There is nothing wrong with their beans. I just cannot find a decaf coffee or tea that tastes good. I know this roasted quickly. It only took about 4 minutes. The coffee reminds me of taster's choice instant coffee. I don't know why decaf tastes so different than full caffeine? Anybody have suggestions?
