It is a pretty mellow brew. I may have under roasted it. I say this because it looked to me that the beans were less than uniform when roasted.. I did not notice any bitterness...

Somewhat disappointed with the first medium roast. I double-checked the settings on my espresso machine to make sure I wasn’t over extracting. First brew was bitter tasting and I’ve had three or more extractions since then and found the same thing. I think I’ll stick with the Haiti Blue Nord that I’ve been using.

Using a Freshroast SR800 with extension tube, I roast this KPM to Full City for about 10.5 minutes at a specific profile. 3 days cure is not nearly enough for this exotic bean. Didn’t like it at all at 3 days. I agree fully with the statement above “Let it Cure”.
Let it cure 7-10 days and you’ll be rewarded.

Roasted beans over open campfire using a vintage wire mesh screen popcorn popper. Used maple hardwood for flames and coals. Each batch contained 1/4 - 1/3 cup of green beans.
Easy to roast. Easy separation between roasts and cracks.
Little chaff.
Medium roast (after first crack - before second crack) has slight to modest oil sheen. Dark chocolate color. Great aroma.
Dark roast (after second crack) dark chocolate to black color with oil sheen) not overly oily. Great aroma.
Just slightly harder to separate roasts and stages than Kona Extra Fancy. Kona Peaberry the simplest to roast and separate the stages.
While pouring roasted beans out of 1 qt mason jar into 4 oz mason jars, the aroma overtook camp and I barely resisted preparing some for consumption.
A six bean sampler (4 oz mason jars each) of Kona Peaberry, Kona Extra Fancy, Kona Purple Mtn, Bali Kintamani, Haitian Blue, and Ethiopian Misty Valley will be given to special friends for Christmas. I expect this one to rate very well.

This is my third order of this coffee. Absolutely love Kona, especially when my husband roasts it. Beautiful rich taste. Smooth body.

I order this coffee recently from coffee bean corral and i did not roast till now but i will write my feedback about this coffee because i bought in 2017 from other retailer and since that time i was searching for it till i find it available here.
this coffee beans a niche beans in world of coffee like Roja dove perfume in world of perfume. amazing flavor as black coffee using chemex . sometimes i am preparing it as single origin and sometimes as blend with low acidic coffee. the most important thing is to roast it with professional coffee roaster i am using gene cafe roaster machine and roast it to medium dark.
roast your coffee and enjoy the cup.

In all fairness, I can't really give an accurate assessment of the coffee. I am totally new to roasting my coffee beans and Kona just so happened to be my first attempt at it. I tried roasting them in an air fryer and I didn't roast them long enough nor did I let them sit for at least 24 hours to let the gasses out. Needless to say, the coffee was very weak, I like a dark roasted coffee and the taste was as I suppose not would it would have been if I had performed my duties properly. Anyone reading this, please don't discount trying this coffee based on my account. I only purchased a sample pack so I will in the future try this coffee again.

Bright and rich with fruity taste but with only very mild acidity! With prominent dark chocolate sweet taste. Great rich and smooth body! Sweet and chocolaty aftertaste. Great coffee.
