I bought the sample, searching for a good bold morning brew. I am using a SR-800. I was surprised at how quickly it moved into Second Crack during development, so be careful and watch it. It went a little darker than I am use to roasting, but was still THRILLED with the great taste. Full-City+ (45). I will be reordering, and trying to get back to that deeper, darker level again.

Yesterday morning I had to get my son to school. Abnormal because he has his truck and also not normal for me to venture with my fresh roasted fresh brewed cup especially on my day off!. This resulted in my skeptical decision to buy some gas station "coffee". Contrast that experience with my current morning. CBC Rising Sun Blend. Roasted just a tickle past second crack via my quad air popper set up. Rested 48 hours, brewed via ceramic meletta drip brew. I like strong coffee, bold and flavorful. This blend doesn't disappoint. Ethiopian minor blueberry notes followed immediately by floral earthy goodness that lingers in the mouth. I had purchased this blend along with 5 others in 5 lb bags during a recent sale. I tend to shy away from Colombian beans but the Indonesian addition makes up for their relativity (boring) chocolate notes. But in this the coco aids in the transition to what tastes like some monsooned Malabar or PNG? Time for another cup to decide! 5 stars!

I typically buy single beans but do try blends periodically. I tend to gravitate towards Cental and South American beans. This is my new favorite blend. I use a Behmor and took the roadt to about 30-45 seconds past the first crack. I let my beans sit for 2-4 days after roast. This is such a smooth refreshing cup of coffee. It will definitely be on all of my future orders. Well done CBC

Drinking a cup of this now, and thought I would review. This blend is perfect for a morning blend. Took just into second crack, I will say, I wouldnt have took it so far -just my personal taste- but some of the beans were still at a city plus roast while others full city, so to get a even looking blend, I found that doing a full city plus with the lighter beans being full city worked as best as you could. Was ready to drink within, two days, and usually I wait at least four, but the smell was amazing. Dark, Bold, Chocolate, with a nutty fullness in the mouth, and some high notes from the fruit for a finish. Highly recommend, just dont expect to to do a city plus or a even a full city roast would show off such a array of roasts per batch. But with all that said, if you like darker roasts like Full City plus and love a pour over first thing in the morning, this is definitely something to put in your rotation. Will be picking up 25lb of this soon enough. Oh, and let your blenders know they did a great job getting this profile. Superb!

I bought a pound of these beans to try them as I don’t think of myself as a blend guy. I’m kind of a purist and generally go for for single source beans. This batch has me re-thinking that. What I love about these is they are an expression of the team at CBC, of which I am a big fan! Roasting them was intriguing, as there are a variety of beans. I tend to roast more by feel than science. I use an SR-800 without the big globe. I found these to roast very nicely-just into 2nd crack at 10 minutes. The truth came when I opened the vacu-trainer the next morning. The fresh intoxicating aroma had me at hello! This is a bold, rich cup of coffee. I really like the complexity and layers of flavor with a nice lingering after taste. You don’t have to choose between Earthy, chocolaty or floral; it’s all there, and balanced nicely. To sum it up, this batch has added a whole new dimension of enjoyment for me, the blender. This is a game changer for me. I will keep an open mind to blends and blenders. Thanks CBC for a terrific coffee, cheers!

Not as exciting as I had hoped. I may still need to refine what roast I need to get the full chocolaty flavors I was expecting. I have tried a dark roast (230 for 42 min) and medium dark (230 for 35) then using a fine grind and a Keurig basket filter filled level and the strong 8 oz brew. The dark was better then the medium dark but I will admit that the medium dark did have some additional flavor tones. Note: When I roast, I cook 300 Grams each batch, the roaster is preheated and the clock starts as soon as the beans have been added to the stir pan on my Cafemasy roaster. Open to suggestions.
