Pleasant, sweet orange lemony citrus with a tiny hint of tobacco.

We are proud to introduce you to the women of Hingakawa Women’s Coffee Cooperative. The Hingakawa (“Let’s Grow Coffee”) Association is one half of the Abakundakawa-Rushashi (“Those Who Love Coffee”) Cooperative which was formed in 2004, becoming the first women’s farmer association of its kind in Rwanda. The other half of Abakundakawa Rushashi is the Dakundakawa (“We love Coffee”) Association, also 100% run by women. Both associations are located in the northern, mountainous regions of the Gakenke district, situated at 1700-1900 meters elevation and spread across five distinct zones. The coffee is a bourbon varietal, washed and sun dried.

A touch of Brazil nut in the cup, but sweet and mild, and boasting a deep, earthy, woody mouthfeel.
Not too heavy or spicy and with a touch of wilderness. A satisfying, full-bodied cup.
Very good acidity, a silky body, strong notes of apricot, stone fruit, citrus and currant.

As advertised... Flowery, winey, slightly fruity. Very tasty! I roasted them just to the beginning of 2nd crack. Just a gorgeous cup of coffee...

This is my favorite coffee for french roast coffee. It produced and excellent clean cup of coffee when roasted just past first crack. Don't just buy a pound, get several.

We just finished 1 lb bag of the Rwanda beans and we love them and will be buying more. My first reaction to the taste of this coffee ( medium to dark roast) was rich and smooth. No bitter aftertaste that you get with some coffee, but a very pleasant aftertaste.

I'm no coffee expert, but I do tend to prefer the beans from this region for their strong and earthy flavors. These particular beans yielded a very pleasant roast: not overpowering yet full of rich flavor. I would buy again .
