raw green bean Green coffee is raw Roast prior to consumption

Rwanda coffee flavor profiles have a very clean, crisp and balanced cup, with medium to lightly-heavy acidity (not as much as Kenya or Ethiopia). Pleasant, sweet orange lemony citrus with a tiny hint of tobacco.

We are proud to introduce you to the women of Hingakawa Women’s Coffee Cooperative. The Hingakawa Association is one half of the Abakundakawa-Rushashi Cooperative which was formed in 2004, becoming the first women’s coffee farmer association of its kind in Rwanda.

The other half of Abakundakawa Rushashi is the Dakundakawa (“We love Coffee”) Association, also 100% run by women. Both coffee growing associations are located in the northern, mountainous regions of the Gakenke district, situated at high altitudes (1700-1900 meters elevation) and with coffee farms spread across five distinct zones. This Rwandan coffee bean is a bourbon varietal, washed and sun dried.

As advertised... Flowery, winey, slightly fruity. Very tasty! I roasted them just to the beginning of 2nd crack. Just a gorgeous cup of coffee...

Discovered this coffee using CBC's great search tools. While I don't feel at all confident about describing a coffee flavor, I can look at the characteristics others have applied to the coffees I like, and get experiment with something similar. Rwanda Hingakawa is a great cup at City+. And doing business with CBC is always seamless and worry-free. Thanks!

This is our go to bean. Full City is delicious. I've tried more expensive beans and still go back this one.

Excellent bean I blended it with some Ethiopian beans and came up with a very bold full flavored dark roast

Part of the sample pack and I used it to learn more about my Hottop K2+ . Roasted it to Full City+ because I wasn’t paying attention. Just to see where 2C would start. Dropped it at 12:00 @ 390f. Not as good as the Uganda as a dark roast but still very drinkable. Based on the other reviews, I will try to do this at a lighter roast level and see where that takes me. I like the idea that I’m supporting a CoOp.

I order this coffee every time I place an order. Though I have now tried a number of other excellent beans, this is still my standard go to favorite against which I compare all others. Never disappointed!

I have not tried all the coffees from Coffee Bean Corral but I have tried their most expensive ones and though they too are great, so is this one at less than a fifth the cost. Perhaps not as "delicate" as the most expensive beans but for me, a nice, full, well rounded flavor; so far, it is my favorite. As another reviewer said: "Super excellent." I agree.

This is my favorite coffee for french roast coffee. It produced and excellent clean cup of coffee when roasted just past first crack. Don't just buy a pound, get several.

We just finished 1 lb bag of the Rwanda beans and we love them and will be buying more. My first reaction to the taste of this coffee ( medium to dark roast) was rich and smooth. No bitter aftertaste that you get with some coffee, but a very pleasant aftertaste.

I'm no coffee expert, but I do tend to prefer the beans from this region for their strong and earthy flavors. These particular beans yielded a very pleasant roast: not overpowering yet full of rich flavor. I would buy again .
