Just had my first taste of the Kenya organic Muiri Estate. It was roasted to City + and dropped at 430°. First, to get a proper shot (espresso) I had to grind MUCH coarser that others I've roasted. My first taste (in an Americano) was CITRUS... I could almost smell orange. Then after a few sips I began to notice a berry flavor. So I logged on to see the cupping for it and YES... Citrus and Strawberry with a sweet taste. I don't really care for fruity notes BUT... This one is interesting and I can actually see myself enjoying it on occasion.

This compares very favorably with Organic Haiti Blue Norde, which I had been using almost exclusively for cappuccinos. Less bitter and very smooth; the first sip is especially pleasing.

I'm very new to roasting, but so far this is my favorite bean. To me it is full bodied and smooth. I roasted it slightly past second crack. I'm going to have to order more as I've drank almost all of it.

It has a nice fruity flavor, with a citrusy aftertaste. Not something I super liked since I'm not crazy about fruity flavors

Like this Kenyan coffee. I like a very dark coffee and this is not quite as dark as I like but it's good.

I'm conflicted on this one. We didn't do a ton of cupping on this one, maybe 5 different roasts until we picked one because we had a short deadline, and landed on one kind of a darkish full-city, verging on vienna. Slow development phase, 8-10 degrees per minute ROR, gradually steepening into 2c which lasted only about 30 seconds. 1c was subtle and inconsistent. A very acidic coffee at greener levels, so it was a tricky balance to not roast it too darkly, without also getting that mouth puckering acidity. I've roasted this one before, form a different crop I assume, and it was a lot better. I did have one customer remark that it was their favorite and they want me to stock it year-round. She was absolutely dead set that it reminded her of graham crackers and vanilla. I didn't get that, but I certainly didn't argue with a satisfied customer. Lighter roasts definitely have more fruit-notes, I get some plum, but I didn't work at developing the citrus quality, because in my first few cuppings, all i got was citrus acidity without flavor notes. That kind of turned me off. That being said, I'd try it again and play with it in the lower ranges some more. It's got a reputation for being pretty tasty, I just struck out.

I liked it a lot, one of my favorites. All different roasts are wonderful. Light Roast was very sweet and flavorful. The Darker roasts was sweet and rich. One of the easiest beans to roast.

First off, this coffee is delicious. I enjoy it light roasted. Sweet and unique. Flavor notes list plum, honey, citrus. I taste horehound with this one, which is perfect. Secondly, the caffeine content is the highest I've roasted. One cup will have you vibrating. And lastly, it's organic! Great single origin or as a top note for a blend.

This is the Kenya coffee I have been searching for over 5 years! I performed a test roast using my Behmor 1600+automatic profile at P3. (I do that with all new beans to find a baseline for tweaking the roast using the manual settings.). I ground more beans than planned and ended with a triple strength cup rather than my usual double strength test brew. I was simply blown away! Absolutely zero bitterness, a tongue-teasing sweet African earthiness, and a deep richness from the center of my tongue to the back. Wow! I am a 71 year old coffee aficionado (“addict”, my wife says) and have a nice roasting “lab” set up in a corner of my garage. In 2019, I roasted over 110# of coffee, almost all for personal use. I am going to buy a LOT of these beans.

I went with 5 stars because of the phenomenal customer service. As for this coffee, I really like the coffee though it's not as sweet as like; I am still working on the roast though and that could make a difference. The coffee is definitely worth four stars, maybe 5 stars if I can adjust my roast to bring out a better cup. I love the five pound bag the coffee comes in; it's very nice and incredibly convenient! Thank you, Coffee Bean Coral! I will be back for more.
