Excellent espresso bean. Done 4 roasts w/SR800 w/ext tube w/215g; 1st roast refer’d a Cafe Timor roast plan which mostly worked, 1st-K was 15° higher. First roast scoop’d med beans FCs°+30° & 2nd-K duration 0:20–:25 w/0:10–:12 steady/rapid. Hario cup’n for me is subpar to Cafe Timor, however, initial solo espresso was VG & cappuccino VG+ & blending w/fav pairs was VG to EX. Each subsequent roast I’ve kept the same Dry 4:00, Maillard 19.6° RoR with similar FCs° & varied the scoop’d temp: FCs° plus 27°, then 25°, last was +22° next roast will be at +18-20°. Each roasting the quality of the solo & blended esp & cap has improved & with my last roast I’ve gotten lots of Ex esp/cap with bold & mild blending pairs. The best blends include 1 or 2 natural Brazilian (CHC Reserve a fav), a washed Caturra, a high elev bean (Conquistador, La Flor & Apolo are favs) & Kenya AA for +chocolate, & Timor H. I often pair Timor H with Sumatra G1. Hario pour-over remains too earthy for my liking; though my wife who drinks coffee w/milk thinks it’s VG. I’ll try a hot & fast roast plan & hope for a better Hario. I've a Hottop w/Artisan I use for most espresso roasts but my SR8 (I'm on my 7th & 8th base unit) being dialed-in for this bean (& Kenya); perhaps a light Viennese? I usually stick with 1/4 blend % but Timor H blends so well with other beans I’m doing lots of 1/6 & 1/8 blends; these will include Mex La Honey & Haiti Blue Pine.

I prefer Island coffees but can scarcely afford Kona much less Jamaica Blue Mountain. East Timor and CBC's current shipment "Heritage Reserve" is better than East Timor beans from another big mail order house. I roast medium (first crack) and it is rich, full bodied with cocoa notes. Only 2 other comments, I had to buy 25 pounds to get free shipping and the shipping costs are not minor. I occasionally mix with Kona for special occasions, about 1/4 lb Kona to 1.5 lb Timor. I find it makes a more complex caramel note

I roasted it to full city plus or roughly 1 minute into 2nd crack. It has a wonderful mouthfeel medium plus body..I tend to like a heavier body and richness..I'm no expert at all this and have only been home roasting almost 5 yrs now. I use the Behmor plus Roaster. I do taste the buttery and chocolate flavors. I'm still trying coffees from all over the place ..haven't landed on just one yet as I enjoy trying different ones but am always in search of that one I cant live without !! I will order more of this one for sure!

It's unique. I roasted it as a city roast in the Hottop, stopping right at the end of first crack. Brewed it this morning as a dopio. I definitely taste the tangy acidity and robustness they're talking about, a bitter cocoa flavor is there, but I'm not getting the graham cracker. I would characterize it as cocoa and butter with that tangy acidity always there. It reminds me a little of a Costa Rican I had not long ago, but with more of the bitter cocoa. I like it, and would get it again. I might go a little lighter next time to try to make the cocoa a little sweeter.
