This is my upmost favorite bean and I’m so sad it has been out of stock for a few weeks! I’m definitely ordering more than I need when it’s back!

this bean combined with Sumatra 50/50 makes the most wonderful coffee, smooth and without bitterness. I roast it dark [I measure roast level by eye not time or temp]

With so many great reviews, I gave this a try. decided to go to a dark roast right after second crack, no oil. Edited 48 hours before using it in my Rancilio espresso machine and had an excellent americano. Smooth, no bitterness, notes of dark chocolate and a bit nutty. I will definitely purchase again.

Definitely one of two of my all time favs. I just bought 3 more pounds of this bean and my other AbFab, the Brazil: Oberon, Cerrado beans.
I roast almost all my beans "long & slow" to bring out the flavors in all my beans. My 150mg roasts take around 13 to 14 minutes to roast to the end of FC and depending on the bean I will roast, I sometimes go just into SC then yank them out for a quick cool down. I usually get and try to get a 14% to 15% H2O loss for these two bean types.

Brazil CHC Reserve Espresso offers a smooth cup at medium to dark roast, similar to but slightly bolder than Turquesa HG.

These beans are labeled espresso and they mean it. As a regular cup of coffee, these beans don't make a very good pot. They absolutely shine when used in espresso. Perfect for lattes. If you're looking for an espresso bean with fantastic flavor, you can't lose with this one.

I don't know much about roasting coffee, but in my very short experience with this being my first, I received many compliments on the chocolatey, nutty flavor. By far, better than Starbucks espresso roast! HAHA
But in all seriousness, you would be crazy not to try it, and I couldn't have imagined picking a better option for my first time roasting.

So far so good. Reviews and description spot on. Great by itself or blended as a base.

A flexible bean that roasts from medium to dark. Given me a new appreciation for Brazilian single origin as espresso. Just short of second crack to Viennese-level roast gives good range of flavors and rich chocolate undertones.

I roasted these chc beans to almost second crack. Absolutely delicious. Some friends whom I offered were very happy when they joined me for the first taste. Great coffee from a great company . CBC is very professional and easy to work with company. It’s my family’s only source of good beans.

When referring to Light or Dark it is (Light = 1 Cracks and Dark = 2 Crack) and we rated it from 1:10. The Light brew was with 8 Cups of Water and 55 Grams of Coffee and Flavor was nutty sweet fruity with a rate of 10 and Strength of Coffee Strong . The Dark brew was with 8 Cups of Water and 50 Grams of Coffee and Flavor was some fruity chocolate taste with a rate of 8 and Strength of Coffee Strong .

I have been roasting my own coffee since early 2002. And in my opinion, I prefer a light to medium-light roast. I stated using coffee bean corral since previous supplier didn't have much selections due to the {fake} Kung-Flu Pseudo-pandemic.
I did a quick web search, I gave you a look, and now I buy my green coffee from coffee bean corral. In addition, your deliveries are quick as {heck}. That makes coffee bean corral a bunch of good people.
Thank you.

I bought 25lb of this in October based on the recommendation of Ms. Mansell. I've been roasting it just into second crack (around 406F) and using flow profiling on an ECM Synchronika. In that form it produces a solid 7/10 espresso that I would drink straight but I use it for flat whites, cappuccinos and lattes.
I've been roasting La Minita Tarrazu for many months which is just ok for espresso but outstanding for pour over, French press etc. Given that La Minita works well on the same grind setting as Daterra Estate I decided to try a 50/50 blend. It was good but not spectacular so I did a 150gr/100gr favoring the Daterra and now I really have something. 20gr in, flow control with 3 bars for 20 seconds ramping up to 8.5 bars to 40gr out, then ramping down to 6 bars until I have 55gr in the cup and this is so drinkable as a straight double espresso! I'm talking smooth, rich, and layered. Add a nice foamed milk and this makes a superb flat white with caramel all the way to the bottom of the cup.

After trying a number of varieties, this is our favorite bean for espresso. I take it into a rolling 2nd crack and the family just loves it. Other reviews have said it's good at any level and I have to agree. Even at city+ this makes a fantastic cup of coffee. It's a vary forgiving bean in that sense, you can't screw it up!

This is my “go to” espresso for straight shots. It’s silky sweet, thick and rich in flavor. It is not at all bitter. There are notes if bitter sweet chocolate, nuts and light tobacco. I have bought and roasted more than 5lbs. I have roasted it medium dark just up to second crack, dark and even extra dark into second crack at the brink of oils beginning to break on the surface. It is outstanding every time! If you enjoy the Classic Italian Espresso straight shot, this is one you will come back to for more!

Smells like cookies. The taste has a marshmallow quality similar to some vodkas and has a deep red wine taste as well. it's not the best coffee I have had but it is defiantly worth trying.

Taken to Full City on an SR800, brewed in a Chemex. Smooth, smooth, smooth. Velvety mouthfeel, milk-, not dark chocolate notes. Rich, but not bold. Just a relaxing, delicious cup.

Balanced. That's the best I can describe this coffee. There are many subtle flavors that someone more sophisticated might be able to pick out. But what I like is the rich, full flavor in which no attribute is particularly overwhelming. I roasted it to completion of first crack. A great cup of coffee that stays consistent even as it cools in your cup.

I roasted this coffee on 10/23/21 with the Behmor 2000AB which I picked up at the Cincinnati Coffee Festival. This was the first time toasting with the Behmor and it was amazing! I roasted in 1/4 lb cycles at 1:30 past first crack. Smooth, chocolaty, nutty, buttery. Well balanced. My new favorite!

I roasted this coffee to (Just) full city..stopped before 2nd crack...and slowly. Blended with CBC's Ethiopian Misty Valley. The result pulled like motor oil. Thick and viscous as if there was 25% Robusta. Straight, this bean is mainly bittersweet chocolate at this roast degree. Get this bean!

The families preferred method of coffee preparation is using an Espresso machine. The Brazil Reserve Espresso is a very good espresso coffee bean. I roasted it just beyond first crack and it is very tasty. Good cup of coffee!

This is THE classic sweet chocolate espresso you’ve been waiting for. Roasted 30 sec or so past 1st crack, these beans make a wonderful sweet and full bodied espresso - nothing bitter, nothing sour. Cappuccinos taste like you are in Italy. Highly recommended for those who don’t want their coffee to taste like fruit.

Roasted at City Plus, a smooth cup of coffee. Want to try a darker roast next run, expect to see more body and chocolate notes missing at the lighter roast.

This is a wonderful coffee. I roast it light stopping right first crack. I brew a double shot for a latte.
The flavors are incredible
I am so glad CBC carries this bean.
Light roast and you want regret it.
